Depending on who you ask, the minor details differ. But essentially, this is what happened. 

 

Sawyer works for an afternoon sports talk show, Sports Talk With Bo Mattlingly. Alyssa works for KNWA & KFTA (local NBC/FOX24 affiliate) covering Arkansas athletics. (Disclaimer- no credit is being given to either bosses)

 

Bo & KNWA signed a contract in August 2014 as a dual partnership. Meaning Alyssa would have to come by the radio studio every now and then and record a sports update. Guess who was in charge of recording it?

 

Ding, Ding, Ding! 

 

Man, he was so cute. (says Saw, but really Alyssa agrees.) However, at the time their conversations we're brief. Basically-

 

Saw- "Ready to record this?"

 

Alyssa "Yes."

 

Saw- "You're good. Thanks."

 

And so it went for about 4 months, until Alyssa decided to try and further the conversation. On New Year's Eve, Alyssa asked Sawyer and his co-worker Seth what they were doing that night. To which they responded "Going out on Dickson Street." 

 

"Great!" Alyssa responded, and wrote her number on a piece of paper. (Note- Sawyer didn't ask for it, she just did it) 

 

But, to give him some props, he did text her later that night and tell her where they were going to be. So Alyssa and her friend Katelynn met up with Sawyer and Seth, he bought her a Magic Hat #9 and the rest is history! 

 

Ok, so it's not quite history, but a year later he proposed and she said yes!
